This mid rise building is nearly 30 years old and has undergone a recent face lift.
All the rooms are medium in size and well appointed with each room having a small sitting area with a walk in closet. Although the rooms are suitable for corporate guests, the rooms are decorated to a high standard with more of a personal touch than can be found in many other chain hotels.
The hotel is famous for its food and beverage outlets including Waxy O Connors one of the most popular bars in the city with Anglophiles. There is also a Japanese, Russian and Irish restaurant in the hotel.
On entering the lobby, one feels like one has entered a small traditional hotel in the middle of England with the only give away being the bright sunlight outside. There are numerous couches in the lobby with pictures of England in a bygone era where guests may be served refreshments.
Located in the Bur Dubai district of Dubai the hotel is centrally located for visiting the local attractions and for the number of bars in the vicinity. The airport is approximately 10 kms away from the hotel with the nearest public beach in Jumeirah being less than 15 kms away.
